The Ramens of New York 🍜

Mu Ramen

A Long Island City must, my friend and I tried the classic Tonkotsu Ramen. The broth and pork were perfection! Seriously. Mu ramen is definitely in my top 3 favorites for New York Ramen spots.

Momosan Ramen

I was excited to find out that Chef Morimoto had opened up a ramen shop right next to work β€” definitely took advantage of that! My go-tos are: Tonkotsu Ramen and Salmon (or Tuna) Zeke Don, and Kakuni Baos.

Minca Ramen

If I had to recommend β€œthe” or β€œmust” ramen spot in New York for anyone, it’d be the super cozy, cash-only, Minca β€” located in the East Village. It’s not just photogenic (look at that shine and gleam!) β€” but the Minca Sio has everything right. The combination of the creamy chicken and pork garlicy broth, the tender yet springy thin noodles (chosen from a variety and type of noodles), well-marinated soft-boiled egg, and the perfect combination of some of my favorite veggies for toppings (bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, scallions). It’s a bowl that will definitely fill you up in the best way possible.

Ramen-Ya

A cozy ramen shop in the West Village! The Shio Black was definitely a good contender of New York ramen shops. Wished though that the black garlic oil came through a bit more in the broth as mentioned on the menu.

Chuko

What I loved about Chuko is that you can mix & match the broth base and toppings easily than other places. So for my first bowl, I chose the Veggie Miso and added in the Roasted Pork. #AlwaysEatYourVeggies #VeggieBroth

Ganso Ramen

The first ramen stop in Fort Greene my boyfriend and I visited was Ganso β€” only a 10 minute walk away from our new apartment! We were only able to visit this place once though since it closed down shortly after, but we quickly slurped down the bowl of Ganso Shoyu (bokchoy for the win as one of the vegetable toppings)! The Blistered Shishito Peppers was lovely for starters and the Fire Island Sea Salt Ale and the Original Sin Hard Cider for drinks as well.
